Men's Swimming Records 2-1 Mark at Hamilton

Miroslav Macala recorded the 14th-fastest 200-butterfly time in program history

Hamilton, N.Y. - The men's swimming and diving team (4-2) competed at a quad meet with Hamilton, Geneseo and Hartwick. The Bombers defeated Hamilton 126-115 and Hartwick 142-101, while losing to Geneseo 146.5-96.5. Freshman Joe Gage (Edwin Oscar Smith/Storrs, Conn.) remained undefeated in the 200-yard freestyle in his collegiate career, winning the event with a time of 1:46.33.

Gage also recorded a second-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle (49.14). Senior captain Scott Wilson (Springville-Griffith Institute/Springville) recorded a second-place finish in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:33.07).

Two other Bombers recorded second-place finishes - junior Mike Ariel (Xaverian Brothers/Norwood, Mass.) in the 500-yard freestyle (5:03.00) and freshman Miroslav Macala (Matyas Lerch/Brno, Czech Republic) in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:15.99). Macala's time is the 14th-fastest in program history.

Freshman Michael Glicini (Dallas/Dallas, Pa.) finished third in the 3-meter diving event (186.05).

The Bombers will travel to RIT for the Don Richards Invitational Dec. 1-3.
